Preschool Therapy Skills Group
At Your Therapy SA, we are excited to announce our new therapy skill groups for pre-schoolers aged 2 to 6 at our Mitcham Square Shopping Centre clinic. Our Therapy Skills Group is designed to support young children and their families in reaching their goals through an early support program that focuses on building skills and confidence in various areas, including gross motor skills, fine motor skills, sensory integration, social skills, and communication.
Our experienced physiotherapist, occupational therapist, and educator team take a neuro-affirmative and child-led approach, valuing your child's strengths and interests. We work collaboratively with families to develop strategies and methods that lead to meaningful outcomes in all areas of development.
The Therapy Skills Group offers a small, intimate setting where children can explore in a safe and nurturing environment. This allows for more personalised attention and support as children develop skills in communication, social interactions, movement, play, self-care, and behaviour. Parents and caregivers will receive regular updates on their child's progress, including new skills learned and goals achieved.
During the 90-minute sessions, parents can observe their children as they explore various activities and then have one-on-one time with the therapist running the group for the week. This safe environment may help your child transition to therapy or schooling without you present, which can be especially helpful for transition to an educational setting. Please pack a small, healthy, nut-free snack for your child and a bring a labelled drink bottle.
In addition to the benefits for the children, our therapy group provides an opportunity for parents and caregivers to connect with others going through similar experiences. You are welcome to stay and treat the session as a playgroup, or if your child is comfortable, you may leave them in the care of our therapy team and take some time for yourself at Mitcham Square, perhaps enjoying a coffee or even watching a movie.
Your therapy SA is accredited and registered as a provider through the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), which means you can pay for our services using your NDIS funding. Alternatively, you may pay for the sessions yourself through our fee-for-service option. Each session costs $115, and commitment is per term.
