Navigating the path to accessing support through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) can often require detailed evidence of how a disability impacts an individual's daily functioning. While having your primary disability listed with the NDIS can facilitate more accessible access to the Scheme, not everyone's condition might be directly listed or fully documented to meet the NDIS criteria.
A Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) is a comprehensive assessment that helps to outline how your disability affects your function.
We frequently receive requests from clients for FCAs to support their applications for NDIS access. An FCA can be crucial if your primary disability isn't listed with the NDIS or if additional detailed documentation of your condition's impact is needed.
Understanding the financial burdens of obtaining necessary assessments, we now offer a partially subsidised FCA tailored for NDIS Access. This service is designed to support clients who need assistance accessing the NDIS. As it is a subsidised service that we offer, as service to the community, we have limited capacity and will keep a wait list of clients.
Please note that a FCA does not guarantee NDIS access. It provides substantial support to your application by clearly illustrating the functional impact of your disability.
Our FCA interview is conducted by a supervised allied health assistant trained in performing detailed client interviews. These assessments are overseen, and the reports are written by experienced allied health professionals, ensuring that your assessment is conducted with the highest professional standards.
